will this use encryption? if so, who will be encrypted?

has toronto police, fire or ems switched over yet?

Wouldn't that be hard to patch talk groups together though? That being said it would be pretty hard to intercept communications.

For a patch, you need to attach a second string in the middle of the first (main) string, which then gets connected to the third can. You must also tie several knots along the length of the string. Each knot acts as a repeater to improve comms over great distances.

hahaha, LOL. How would implement a trunking system with the string and cans. You could use a different size can for each frequency, but you would still need a control can.

Now to allow officers access to multiple channels, would they carry multiple cans, or would they tie a different string for each division? (I.e. 51 div string, 52 div string, etc) the only time I can see that system being a problem is for fire, more specifically a working fire. However a possible work around might be to have guitar string type line to use on the fire ground, you could then tie it to a regular string (as per method above) so everyone in the district could hear.

hmmm...Just like a real CC (control channel) is the workhorse of a real TRS, the CC (control can) would also have to be the most significant piece of hardware. The CC would have to be the biggest can in a Can RAdio system for Police (C.R.A.P). In order to implement this new system, it is imperative to ask as many people, friends and neighbours or even strangers on the street, if they have big cans.

Do you have to use insulated strings or bare strings? 'cause the knots may cause shorting of the signals......

Youd better make sure the strings and cans are made in Canada. Ford doesnt want any of that foreign stuff, too many problems in Toronna without worrying about another million strings to add to the mix..

Seriously, Ford is a law and order guy, he'd probably be more willing to upgrade the new supposed system.

This assumes he gets elected, he has an extensive rap sheet that he admitted to today!
