Hello,

Don't know if anyone's from the shwa (Oshawa, ON). The last few times I've been driving around there I've noticied a bunch of new (within the past couple of months) radio towers. They look more like cell towers but there's no antennas (visible) on them.

They are about 150 or so feet high. There are 3 white columns that extend straight up. About every 50' or so they are welded together with horizontal beams. This splits the tower up into 4 pecices. The top peice is totally enclosed with white sheet metal all painted white. (I don't have a camera, sorry, I know it would have been easier)

They are located at:

Taunton and Townline (North East Corner)
Ritson and Rolson (South West, right near the Durham EMS station)
Ritson and Viola St. (Ritson and 401, just east of the Beer Store)
Bloor in-between Park and Simcoe (south of the rail tracks)

I think there are more but those are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head.

Does anyone know what these are for, new radio system, more cell towers...?

Those things are like a plague now, i will be driving around in ajax/whitby and see ones nestled in fields or hidden by trees, they are everywhere, Telus is taking over..i really think its the shape that makes them stand out though, cant say i really notice anyone elses towers that often, just the Telus ones
