New TPS talkgroups ?

Seeing new TPS talkgroups, unless my scanner has gone buggy. Old ones still active , but for example
4371 - 23 div
4147 - 13 div
4467 - 33 div
4115 - 11,12 div

many others

Is it just me or are you guys seeing this too?

I'll check them tonight. I just scan the ones programmed into my scanner already. I'll give those a shot.

Old groups still seem to be in use, fire TG's do not seem to be affected.

Still seeing the new groups a day later.

You need to learn how to use the status bit feature on your radio.

Those talkgroup id's you are posting contain a status bit of 3.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm still hearing all those divisions on their normal talkgroups...

A status bit of 3, is the original talk group ID +3 ,which is a talkgroup patch of one group with another.

In your examples from the first post, 22 & 23 Div. may be patched together, 32 & 33 and so on.

If you see ID + 4 ,that's an emergency patch.
Whitby site on Fleetnet uses them frequently (e.g. +3, +7 )

Keep your status bit ON for scanning

Your scanner isn't buggy, it's letting you know something interesting.

What exactly do you want to know? Which groups are patched together?

22 Div + 23 Div
32 Div + 33 Div
51 Div + 53 Div
54 Div + 55 Div
PKE-E + PKE-W (generally during the night only)

I have never been able to get the status bit to work properly on my scanners.On my 396 and 330's,if it's ON,then I seem to miss anything on patched talkgroups.Been noticing this on both 800 Mhz trunking systems.If I turn it OFF,then I get the patched traffic.I found this out when using ID search,and noticed a bunch of extra new traffic.This seems backwards from what the manual states.The 330 seems to get the patches with the status bit turned on sometimes,but the 396 will never do it.

On my older radios,like the BC780XLT,everything comes through with the status bit turned ON.This is the way the manual states it should work.

Anyone care to explain which way is correct,and why the difference betweeen different radios ?

I use to get that on my 246 also wyldman.

Don't forget 11 Div + 12 Div.

What exactly do you want to know? Which groups are patched together?

On a 246 or 396, set it to IGNORE status bits and then monitor all groups in a patch, e.g. to monitor 13 Division, monitor 13-D13 and 61-HWY.
If you choose to monitor one (e.g. 13-D13) and lock out the other (61-HWY), you're just wasting your time.

on most of the unidens the status bit should be UNCHECKED or off... At least the 246.330 & 396
