These releases are oddly specific for the two DMR T3 fixes, while once again ignoring so many other bugs/issues that have been reported over the past few years.

And yeah, nothing really new here, the same fixes were released nearly half a year ago for the P2 models. 🥱

A slight oddity with my SDS100. I did the update last night and it was fine. This morning when I turned the scanner on it went into the update routine again. I've restarted it several times and that hasn't happened again.

The scanner seems fine.

I agree that there should be one larger firmware update with all of the reported bugs fixed, but don't see that happening. Or at the least multiple bug fixes in a shorter period of time.

I guess JoeBearcat was wrong about there being another release for the P2 scanners.

I did that the first time through and then checked the firmware versions which were correct. I have no idea why it installed the firmware again, but it's running just fine.

When updating my sds100 when the firmware finished downloading a pop up stated leave the scanner plugged up and push the power button.

I updated both 100 and 200. Did they say what each FW update is about?
Not sure what DMR Tier 3 Cap Max entry messages are?
Support DMR Tier 3 Multi-Block VHC Grant is?
  • Supports DMR Tier 3 Multi-Block VCH Grant.
  • Improved to detect DMR Tier 3 Capacity Max late entry messages.
  • Added Weather EAS event codes: SQW, BLU

The first two items relate to DMR trunked systems, and the third adds the Snow Squall (SQW) and Blue Alert (BLU) event codes to the NOAA Emergency Alert System.

And here's what a Blue Alert is. National Blue Alert Act of 2013 - Wikipedia

Also, any chance the firmware for the BCD996P2 can be downloaded independent of the update program? The scanner is in my vehicle... I guess Wi-Fi will reach or I could set my smartphone as a hotspot, still kinda a pain.

The 996 does not support SD-Cards so there is no way to transport the firmware to the radio without being connected to a computer. That is one of the reasons I switched to 536's in my car,..

Via Sentinel or did you download it?
I updated the firmware of my SDS200E and UBCD3600XLT via Sentinel.

Like @buddrousa already said, pay attention to messages on your PC screen when you’re updating a SDS100E or UBCD3600XLT. at the end of the updating process it tells you to keep your SDS100E or UBCD3600XLT physically connected to your PC but digitally “disconnect” the USB Cable via the USB disconnect/throw-out option in your taskbar and push the power button.
