The Icom R30 has Bluetooth and a working App and it has no problem receiving P25, NXDN, D-Star, AM Aircraft, and pretty much everything else
except for DMR.
And Uniden has a Marine radio that already has Bluetooth. Looks a lot like the SDS100.

It will take me at least 10 years to completely understand these SDS radios. By then who knows what will come along next. I would really like an all-in-one hand held that is TX 2m/440, DMR, and extended sw receive, SDS scanner that makes waffles.

I'm looking for something like a model BCD996P2 that is SDR. I don't need fancy color displays...just great performance.

That Hytera DMR radio costs $200 naked and with both internal GPS and internal Bluetooth it's $50 more and they managed to have both those things working internally in the radio. I belive most people would accept $50 more for a SDS scanner if that gave you both a GPS and a Bluetooth capability without any cables to external devices.

I would like to see a SDS396 handheld and SDS996 base/mobile for simulcast. The decoding hardware, firmware, and software already exist. There are many cases where a less expensive basic scanner without a nationwide database or all of the bells and whistles would suffice. I would gladly buy 2 more SDS200's if a remote head were available. I prefer the feel of discrete buttons rather than a touch screen for mobile operation.

Funny stuff, this is like deja vu, I can remember when Whistler had that almost year-long ruse that they were developing a simulcast capable radio and probably figureed it out in a half an hour that they would never be able to fit it in the carcass of a psr-800.

When the Whistler representative was asked about it... They said...

"wait and see"

I remember.
