Is there a way to edit a group or radio without the pop-ups? Such as directly in the highlighted cell, or preferrably directly from the keyboard?

The live display is great, especially the flexibility in color and layout, but I can't keep up with rapid new IDs.

Also one reasonably-repeatable bug: Open a session and let it track for a while, then go to History and deselect Affs and Calls... crash.

Rick - not sure if this has been reported by the EDACS users, so I'll mention it anyway.

If you are monitoring a Motorola site and then switch to EDACS, instead of taking the next ID number available for EDACS systems, the ID number used is the Motorola system's ID +1. For example, if monitoring Mot system 8C12, and then switching to an EDACS system, the EDACS ID used is 8C13.

Press F2 - Looks like it works but I cant get it to save the changes.

i have just returned home, where i have a 4 site edacs trunk that carries all my PS comms.

unitrunker is working fine, but none of the frequeny data shows up


is this standard for EDACS systems since they don't transmit the freq data (just the LCN from what i understand)?


reason why is kinda simple:

they are about to reband here, and i'd like to be able to reprogram a few scanners so that they'll work ok in post-rebanding.

Unitrunker not compatible with Toshiba laptop

For a little while I was having the same port 3 and 13 problem with my PSR-500/Satellite setup. I found that as soon as there was actually a signal being sent from the scanner to the computer, unitrunker recognized the port. Double check that you are tuned to an active control channel with "CCDump" turned on before you open up the "edit receivers" window in UniTrunker. Good luck...

Thanks for sharing your experience witht the Toshiba Satelite. I still am having no luck!
Radio is on a control channel...
CC DUMP is set to yes.......
USB Cable is plugged into the radio (no green light in the USB cable at this point)......
USB cable plugged into the USB port on the side of the Toshiba, green Rx light starts flashing....
Unitrunker is brought up, still have the green flashing.....
Receiver tab is selected on UT, still have flashing green light.....
Select PSR and 500, still OK with the green light....

Select serial port and only selections are 3 and 13, (my assigned port=10)..still have green flash....
Select data bits or data speed and make any changes, the green light goes out....

It certainly appears there is some incompatibility between the Toshiba and Unitrunker. All the other applications run just fine with the Toshiba and PSR500 software. (Demo app, PSRedit, Win500, etc.)

Anybody have any ideas?

Sorry but I just plain missed that message. Thanks for the response and hope we can work out the bug.

For what it is worth, I connected Hyper-terminal to the CC Dump output and can see the data coming from the radio just fine over port 10.

Let me know if I can help in anyway to assist in researching a solution to the problem.

I used to have a Toshiba Satellit and had very little success with trunktracking and other radio related applications involving real-time datastreams. It might be a fundamental problem with that particular model, which is classified as a notebook rather than a laptop.

In this case - I'm certain that it's a bug. It has been fixed for the next release which is being tested as I type.

Need help after about 5 to 10 mins running. I always encounter a shut down. which reads "Uniform has encounter a problem and needs to close". This seems to happend on the site i`m monitoring which is the Pinellas county system 1802. What happends is it will pull up another site automatic on the same control channel and shut everything down. also when i go to to close uniform this same problem happens. any suggestions?

I still can't get it to decode anything on the Parker Co P25 system.

Exactly the system I was trying. I have the same problem as some earlier posts, but reading through I didn't find an answer.

When running it side by side with the old Unitrunker, the old one still decodes and displays affiliations. The old one didn't display more than that on VHF P25 Trunking.

When playing with input levels, the new version will only get as high as about 40% decode rate on the receiver window, and never shows any data on the system window.

Anyone have any luck on VHF P25 Trunking yet?

Same for me here with the P25. I even did a little work on the radios and put in the caps. to my discriminator taps. No better with that either.

My levels are either too high or too low and then with the microphone boost, I am not getting any better with that. Adjusting the levels of the soundcard aren't doesn't do anything either.

Since this is still "alpha", I know that there are things still to work out.

If you are decoding P25 from a C4FM system - the most you can hope for is 40% decode rate. The C4FM demodulator is broken - has been since forever. I don't have a fix for this any time soon.

Rick, do you think I would have better luck on P25 VHF if I built a 4-level decoder and fed it into the COM port instead?

The program won't talk to a slicer but if it did, you'd get similar results. The C4FM signal isn't really comparable to a 4 level FSK. It's more like 5 levels so you'd be doing good to get something like 33% to 40% decode rate - with the incumbent error correction doing most of the work (eg. your baseline decode rate could be something like 25% with the EC boosting that an extra 10%). In some cases, the CQPSK decoder out-performs the C4FM decoder on a C4FM signal - which shows just how bad my C4FM decoder really is.

Maybe it's time for me to invest in a GRE scanner to feed the program
Still curious to see if it does better on VHF than the older program did. Never could get more info than on the Props screen and Affilliations screen.

Even with the new firmware, no system showing up on either the old or new Unitrunker... It does log the packets though... The new firmware is dumping the multiblcok stuff now but it shows up as a CRC error in the raw dump.
