New ZME Transmitter

After years of monitoring Memphis Center here in Bowling Green, KY and only being barely able to hear the Nashville transmitter, sounds as though they have commissioned a new transmitter here in Bowling Green on 133.850. 5x5 signal here. Sounds like the transmitter is right in the back yard. Wonder if anyone has any more info on this and if this is part of ZME's sector re-allignment and re-design. Have not heard the UHF mirror on 317.6 yet....

This is a low altitude frequency for the Nashville/Bowling Green sector/0-FL230.

Must be testing new RCAG as they have de-activated it at 0100 CST. Heard a/c in the area giving a radio test to center/could not hear center. We'll see if they turn it back on....

Sometimes you can hear some interesting stuff when they're working on the system... They were working on ZLA one day, and they started simulcasting and linking UHF stuff through various transmitters. I started hearing tower transmissions on their freqs, for bases that are 75 miles away. It was a drag when they stopped it actually.

Sounds like they may have changed from "Mains" to "Stand-by's" or BUEC's. to reach a low flying aircraft out of range or maintence was being performed...I guess there are several possibilities.
