Im just getting into cb radios and hope to step up to ham in the future. Im setting up my antenna- it’s a 2nd hand 3 radial tearful and I’ve got a telescoping mast to put it on. Im my yard ive got a piece of pipe driven into the ground with a lot of concrete around it that is an anchor point tying off a tree that leans towards the house with a cable. My idea is to put the telescoping mast into this piece of pipe and raise it from there. It’s about 30 feet from the house. I have a grounding rod and clamps and #8 solid copper wire to connect to grounding rod. Where Im getting confused is reading about grounding where it says my ground rod must be bonded to the ground rod by my breaker box for the house. What does this mean and how do I do it. Also does the base unit or power supply need to be grounded individually inside the house somehow? Thank you for your time and patience

Hi @Loraine71 and welcome to Radio Reference!

Take a look at the document that I referenced in this thread:

As for bonding the antenna’s ground rod to the ground rod located at your electric service where it enters the house on the outside (the breaker panel will be located in the same area on the inside of the house), how far apart are these two ground rods? The two ground rods need to be connected by a heavy gauge copper wire.
