Newbie getting started need help

Hi Everyone,

I just acquired a new Pro 197 R/S Digital Scanner. I need to program it for my area, county and state. Where do I start?
I need a cable and a downloadable program I see. Any suggestions on which is better/easier?

I live in Indiana and in Morgan County. I want to program everything I can receive so that would be local, county and State as well as Indianapolis.

There is a good program called PSR Edit that you can use to program your scanner. It does have a 30 day free trial, so if you don't like the program you don't have to pay for something you don't like. As for the cable, you could get one from Radio Shack.

Even though it says the GRECOM line of scanners in the link, it still can program Radio Shack models.
