Newbie help/question

Hey everonye...

I'm trying to get my mom a scanner for xmas -- she loves listening to the Parsippany Police. They recently changed their frequencies... I have them but I don't know if they're trunked, digital, or both. Anyone know, or can tell from the frequency list??

Parsippany PD uses Digital Freq's so you'll need to purchase a digital scanner. Also, Morris County is installing the MIRS (Morris Integrated Radio System) in all (take that back) MOST municipal vehicles. PD, FD, and EMS all will have capability to talk on this system.

You may wanna consider a scanner capable of Trunked and also Digital.

Your options are pretty limited. If I were you I'd get either a BCD396T, Pro96, or Pro2096.
