Hi im a newbie at scanners and I recently purchased a
Uniden Bearcat BC346XT Scanner

I would like to know if this scanner will work in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Also where can I check if my city has digital channels or frequencies.

Where can I check?

Your Radio will work on TPS,TFS, EMS York region, Peel region. But will Not do digital like OPP. Some of the systems i mentioned that will work have some digital channels but for now it will get the majority of good stuff. Hope that helps you and BTW welcome to the Board..

You also will not be able to pick up GO Transit as that system is also digital.

The OPP is on the Bell Fleetnet system and is digital, so as Chrome69 pointed out you won't get them, but there are other talkgroups on the Bell Fleetnet system that are analog (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transportation, for example) and you should be able to pick up those.

Overall your pretty good to go in Toronto (for now).

And this is the site to check if a system has digital. Just go to the top right and search the city Toronto Public Safety... There is even a column for what I'd Digital or Encrypted
