Hello... I have a BC346XT. I want to scan my local police department on trunk.. I have been having trouble programming the scanner. I need to enter frequencies in order and then the talk groups. I don't know how to enter the tower freq's (Edacs, Motorola?) Then the same with the talk groups. I will paste the codes to give you a idea as to what I am talking about. If You could give me step by step so I can do this I would appreciate it. Again I am very new to this scanner and It seems to be a bit difficult to use! Thank you! :)

I will recommend you download/install Freescan programming software. It's free, and will make programming much easier, providing you have the proper cable(s).

...which is discussed here...

Connecting scanners via USB - The RadioReference Wiki

In addition this article contains all the links - including the Easier to Read manuals, the links for which are at the bottom, you will need to get going. DMA takes a bit of learning - it's wise to make backups in case you want to revert to something earlier, once you get some software...

Program your DMA Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki

And incidentally there's a link for the FreeScan user guide as well. But really, you need to understand how DMA works before you can use any software effectively. Take some time reading the DMA FAQ and the Easier to Read guide before you go any further. There are also links to articles that will begin to teach you about trunking.

HTH...Mike
