The old school in the town of Mt. Ayr just north of SR 114 on SR 55 is on fire. Flames through the roof prior to fire dept. arrival. Morocco and Brook fire departments were the first due departments. Additional mutual aid is being called in from Lincoln Twp and Goodland in Newton Co.with tankers and manpower and Jasper Co. departments Keener Twp and Remington with tankers and an aerial and tankers from Rensselaer.
