NFRRSA system appeared to be taking minimal calls starting around 10:00 AM EST today. Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, and Sandy Springs are currently operating on the NFRRSA Backup system on the Fulton County P25 system. I also am hearing some chatter about the "statewide lines" being down. Anyone know anything further? Thanks

Good catch...this system is not broadcasting a control channel still as of 2:30pm. On the backup talkgroups it appears 985 is Alpharetta PD, 983 is Roswell and 981 is Sandy Springs

System back online earlier this evening with normal operations, I am told this was an expected orderly upgrade and went according to plan with only a slight deviation from the expected upgrade time anticipated.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully they aren't adding more encryption. I saw some new encrypted talkgroups being tested the other week (103XX iirc). I was wondering if they might be adding some talkgroups for the North Fulton Jail, since FCSO is ceasing operations in July. I imagine the North Fulton cities will have their hand forced and will have to end up running it themselves.

FCSO jail ops already has a talk group on 5B2 for both the north annex and the south annex,
I'm aware, though as I mentioned FCSO is not going to be operating the North Annex starting July 1st, and unless the North Fulton cities want to start driving downtown again like they did during Covid, I imagine they will probably be forced to take over the jail, and I was wondering if maybe they would have to create a North Annex jail TG on NFRRSA. I could be wrong though, I haven't heard any further news since the announcement of the jail closure in January.

Taking over the jail would mean the county would have to agree the same way the CoA has to play nice to allow county inmates in a CoA owned facility. In either case, per policy, jail ops and other jail talkgroups are strapped encrypted so from a scanner/hobbyist standpoint it's moot who's running it.
