I am running DSD+ currently on the Niagara Region P25 system and been seeing TG's pop up (unfortunately encrypted) in the 6000 range (so far 6000 & 6002) with RID's in the 120xxx range.. police and fire around in the 100xxx and 110xxx range. Any idea who this could be?

I have no idea, but I will monitor the system out here for the next little bit and we will see what I can pick up as I am located in Niagara Falls.

There are a bunch of sequential T/Gs. Note the amount of activity in the 6th column even with difficult reception from here. This activity log is from just over around 3 hours this afternoon. CBSA cross-patches from the bridges may be a valid assumption. I'll run both systems in parallel tomorrow to see if individual call time stamps coincide.

Just playing with running the Niagara system against the FWC TIII system. While activity on T/Gs 6000+ has dropped significantly now I can't see any of the CBSA T/G traffic on any of the FWC sites that I can clearly receive. Can any of you guys down in or near Niagara confirm they're active on FWC still? I'm now wondering if maybe they've moved off it to the Niagara Region system... what are the odds? Interoperability with NRPD if nothing else? My logs show I haven't looked for CBSA activity since September so I'm not the person to ask if they're still on FWC.

Yes! I will start scanning the CBSA immediately. I have a spare scanner here which I can set up to monitor JUST them. Hopefully I will pick up some traffic in the next couple of days.

Update as of 12:30 AM on 12/08/2022:
No traffic has been heard on any of the CBSA talkgroups on the FWC sites. I will keep monitoring to see what happens and provide an update as early as tomorrow evening.

Oddly enough what I have seen so far some could match what is listed on FWC.

@mbstone99, by any chance, have you heard anything on the FWC system? Because I've been monitoring all afternoon from within Niagara Falls, and I can't seem to pick anything up.

That's odd.. but no I haven't heard that system active for me for a while.

Matt

Also there a few more frequencies not listed in the DB that I am seeing that is part of this system with Phase 2 activity on both channels while the ones listed in the DB are only showing one channel being used.

771.61875
773.30625
773.59375
774.34375

I haven't seen 769.90625 listed in the DB yet tho.

I should include that I am only listening for traffic on the CBSA talkgroups. There hasn't been any traffic at all since my earlier posts up until now. Which the current time at writing this post is 3:06 AM.

Thank you for this information, I will plug in the data and see what I am able to pick up. Although, at this point... I am not holding my breath.

UPDATE:
As of 3:08 AM, the talkgroup 6001 on the Niagara Region system was active and encrypted as previously mentioned.

I've had the FWC Rainbow Bridge site on since about 7PM and there has been zero traffic logged.

So I work nights, and I have been listening to all of the different talkgroups all night for both the CBSA and the new talkgroups on the 'Niagara Region' system...

First off, on the CBSA FWC talkgroups (all of them), I have not picked up one transmission.

On the new 'Niagara Region' talkgroups, I have picked up 3, very short, encrypted transmissions on talkgroup "6001".

I am picking up traffic on talkgroup 6001 again. They have keyed up about 4-5 times already. However, it appears that there's still no traffic coming in from CBSA on the FWC system.

Interesting...
As I am typing this... I believe some unencrypted audio came over the 6001 talkgroup. However, the transmission was so fast, that I didn't hear any actual words. It's also highly possible that DSD+ might have not detected the encryption.

I will keep it running again tonight and see what happens.

Tonight as I am monitoring I have picked up the following:

Frequency
Talkgroup ID
Radio ID
771.618756001120144
771.618756002120216
771.618756001120147

6000 to 6002 were quite active the entire time I had it on this morning. In total DSD+ has logged nearly 75 individual radio IDs here on T/G 6000 through 6003.

Since it's both unknown and "enc" I'm going to leave it at that. Watching numerous FWC sites at the same time the only activity was the usual commercial business users with absolutely nothing on the known CBSA talkgroups.

Yeah, still nothing here on anything to do with the known CBSA talkgroups.
