Hi. Can someone tell me what talkgroups the NJ DOT uses on the NJSP Troop A south system? In other words, what talkgroups do the trucks (snow plows, salt trucks, etc) use? Thanks

Scroll to the Dept. of Transportation Section on wc2em's site. Under the talk groups you'll four see low band frequencies. I believe, from discussions in the past on this subject, it was determined that the plows use those low band frequencies. I also believe they're simplex, so hearing them may be a challenge unless they're near your location. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

DJ88..

The NJDOT freq's are used by the NJDOT trucks especially during winter storms.
I can confirm they are simplex. These are basically the guys taking to each other
going up and down the state roads. I say NJDOT truck because I have never heard
any contractors on these channels. Even the NJSP / NJDOT 800 mhz system is quiet
come to think of it unless it is a surprise storm or situation or they are going to there
yards to monitor the storm. I noticed for the best reports just monitor the
regular NJSP patrol groups and the troopers are always giving some type of
road reports.

Tony

PS..

Has anyone ever heard IMART or the 95 group ever used on 800 ?

58224 is the talkgroup id for 95. 57744 is the id for IMART. I have heard both many times. They are on the NJSP trunking system.

Yes and also the ESP talkgroups are good for info. Lots of times they give traffic reports to dispatch and may request snow plows or salt if road conditions are poor. I heard that a lot last saturday night along I 78 in North Jersey when we had that inch of snow.
