I am having issues with Uniden 536. When monitoring the West Orange site and ID Searching Bergen County, it will pick up a few transmissions but miss most of them. The transmissions are at full signal strength. Can I change the settings that will enable accurate scanning? Currently the delay time is 2 sec, digital waiting time 400ms,digital threshold mode auto and digital threshold level 8. It also has the latest firmware installed.

Simulcast distortion. Both the West Orange site and the Bergen County sites (all three of them) are simulcast cells. Even if you have "full signal strength" that doesn't mean that the scanner can make any sense of what it's receiving. What you're experiencing is not unusual at all, there are literally hundreds of threads about it, as well as wiki articles and other resources describing the phenomenon. Do some searching for simulcast distortion and see if any of the various suggestions are helpful, but ultimately the x36HP series was not designed to properly demodulate P25 trunking simulcast, so there's no guarantee that you'll be able to make any appreciable improvement, depending on your particular situation.

The SDS series is currently the only scanner by either brand to be purposely designed to properly decode P25 simulcast. It's a fundamental hardware design which every other scanner, including the TRX, lack. Other options are the Unication G Series pagers, or perhaps a niche product like the BlueTail P25RX, which seems to get solid reviews from those who own one.

Great, thank you for the info. I will look into these other options.
