B and C have always been set up in totally seperate banks here in my 796 - I'll put the Holmdel & Cranbury TGID's and see how they sound...

I have the Holmdel TGID in my 796's Troop C bank and it sounds horrible until I get into the Toms River area.

That's odd, aren't all of the Central sites simlucast sites?

my uniden handheld was locking on a troop A control channel only

I know that the "A" channels are also used by an NY City system as well.
Were you hearing Troop A or was it possibly that NYC system? I think there are Housing Authority, etc. on that system. I have picked them up on my Troop A dedicated bank when around the Highlands, NJ.

lol...i wasnt hearing anything on that channel, but every time i hit resume or turned it off and on, it would immediately seek out that channel. no idea why.

It comes in fine when I am near Toms River (probably on account of that rather fat flag pole at the NJDOT yard on Rt 37 West :lol: ). When I'm closer to Bass River it doesn't come in at all. Maybe it's only simulcast from certain towers?
