As has been mentioned in other threads, there is what sounds like an Open Sky control channel on 866.5625 in the NYC area. This is one of the NJSP North channels as well, and I am unable to scan NJSP due to the scanner "sticking" on this noise every time a TG hits it.

I have tried:
ATT the channel (217 for reference purposes)
Setting the channel to AM
Locking out the channel
Setting a CTCSS tone on the channel
Setting no delay
Setting (-) delay, whatever that does.
Changing the radio out of CC only mode.
But so far, the system still hits the channel, and once the SQ is open, I can't get back, I am locked on the channel.
Anyone have ANY ideas what I can do to scan the system without whatever lands on that particular channel?
This is a BC780, but my 796 and 396 and everything else behaves the same way. And yes, it is programmed properly, others also hear the OS CC on the same freq.

Hmm, how about attaching a slightly weaker antenna to one of your scanners? Also, do you know what system this channel is coming from?

You could always LOCKOUT the 866.5625 channel.

When I was actively following NJSP Troop B, that channel was primarily either Parkway or Turnpike comms.

I did lock it out, but the radio gets it anyway because it is trunked!
That is in fact the nature of my question.
The antenna thing is not helpful, because the interference is stronger than the NJSP system here. But note, I was in Northern NJ with my 396T, and I also had the same problem there, I don't know how it fails to interfere with the NJSP themselves. Once the SQ is open, it is there.

I remember someone saying it comes over the NJSP car's radios too, sometimes.

Well, here is a fix, not perfect but works...
I removed the offending freq, just set that channel to 000.000
Now it never hits that channel (so far).
I don't know why it did not act the same with a lockout, but there it is.

I now have it streaming if anyone wants to listen:
24.184.37.116 server port 5000
You need the client software (free) from www.proscan.org
Reception is very good right now.

Nope. Just download the client and install it, then fill in the above IP address and server port. There is not even any place to put in a password.

The mode is muticast client. The settings are above. There is nothing else to do but click start.
you might have a firewall or other software blocking your ability to stream if it is not working. It is online now.
