Right and its not working , so try it.

Changing it from conventional to trunked isn't going to help it decode an extremely weak signal, that's just further complicating the situation. He simply needs to either A: Move the antenna to another spot, or B: Get a better antenna with higher gain.

On attachments 010 and 087 I am receiving Bluefield VA PD without any problems. However, on attachment 016 I only receive them for 2 seconds and they are already in the middle of the transmitting. All of this occurred on 11/8/2017 on a cloudy rainy day connected by my outdoor antenna. I have only received them for 2 second burst since 11/8/2017, and there are times that I receive an S with full signal and absolutely NO audio coming through on my TRX2 for this system only. All other systems are working great with audio coming through. All my updates are current on my TRX2, and I have even went so far as to re download them, and that did not help. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try attenuating the signal. 5 bars and no audio could be the scanner is clipping it because it is too strong, this makes it act just like a weak signal except the meter shows full bars.

It could also be some type of interference. Seeing your using a outdoor antenna , it will not be easy to move.

I know this might not be adding much to help the original poster, but it does seem that VHF and UHF tend to be "flooded" on my TRX-2. Attached is a photo of the scanner paused with no audio coming in but the signal is bouncing between 4 and 5 bars and most of VHF-High is this way. I have already ran in to a case where the radio is going "deaf" in RF dense areas. Hope this is not the case with the original poster.

alabamarailfan: How did you go about fixing the attached image problem? I am getting audio for occasionally 2 seconds and also receiving the attached image problem with full signal and no audio.

I would not expect that enabling attenuation on the radio would help receive a signal that is intended for a small town that is transmitting from 35 miles away.

He has 5 bars on the signal meter, when Attenuated, the bars disappear...to me that means there may be interference or a birdie causing it that is covering up the actual weaker transmission.

Because he is using a roof top antenna it will be difficult to solve without moving the antenna location or replacing some questionable coax or connectors.

Add an FM Broadcast Band trap and possibly a notch filter for one or both of the VHF paging bands.

Those are a must here for any GRE or Whistler branded scanner on the VHF bands.

How do I set NXDN mode to auto? When I go to program it using the EZ Scan software, All I have is NXDN types C & D.

You do it under the conventional tab, select the alpha tag r the frequency, go to the MODE column make sur ei says NXDN, then go to the squelch column, click on the RAN and it will give you a list, go to the top of that list and select ANY.
