Noise Filter

Would it help to get a noise filter if im getting interference from a casinos transmission on my pro 197? I was talking to someone and they said that may help. If so what should i look at?

Im listening to pottawattamie county ia and there digital but the casino is analog i believe and there showing up on all my channels.

Wow. you must be really close to the casino. I don't think a filter is going to work. The Harrah's frequencies are interspersed with the ORION frequencies. A filter that attenuates one is going to affect the other. An 800 yagi might help but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will have another idea.

Yeah im right across the golf course from them. When i take the scanner in the car and drive around its fine but when i get close it starts in again.

Try an attenuator. This will help if the casino is overloading your receiver front end.

What happens if you remove your normal antenna and have just a tiny bit of wire? Do you still have enough signal from the desired station to receive it?

I messed around with it alot lastnight and i turned the attenuator on and it helps alittle. I still get some but not as bad.
