Non Used Talk-groups

Im cleaning up the XTS 2500 Radio i use to listen to the Calgary Digital Radio (programmed to listen only by local dealer) and i am strictly wondering for those who have been doing this alot longer than me if these channels are ever in use at all as i have never herd them ever come on the scanner or radio.

A14 - District Chief Chat
A16 - Deputy Chiefs Chat
D1 - CFD Communications Techs
D2 - CFD Digital 1
D3 - CFD Digital 2
A12 - CEMA (1)
A13 - CEMA (2)
B15 - CFD Hazmat (1)
B16 - CFD Hazmat (2)
B13 - Inspection Channel North
B14 - Inspection Channel South
Dispatch - MD of Bighorn #8

I have logged A14, A16, B13, B14, B15, B16 last year on rare occasion. The only time I saw a D* series talkgroup key up was during that nasty premature snow storm last year when all TAC channels were loaded with crews. As for Bighorn, I believe I have heard (not logged) them being dispatched on C16 Rural although I could be mistaken.

You are, with all due respect. Bighorn's VHF comms are linked to the trunk system much like Cochrane's UHF comms are linked to the trunk system.

Many years ago, this was done on C16, but a dedicated Bighorn channel was added shortly thereafter due to the amount of traffic on C16.

Because the link radio is in one place and doesn't move around, it's highly likely that Bighorn comms are carried only on the one tower site the radio is affiliated to. Off the top of my head, I don't recall which site that is.

All the other talkgroups listed have been used as you state in your post, or otherwise.
