I've been hearing "E" Edward and "W" William units the past couple of days, never heard them before. I know unit assignments mainly correspond with the patrol beats with special units like I think S - Supervisor, K - K9. Anyone know what these E and W units might be or have a list of unit assignments for Norman PD?

East and West? If there are two units assigned to "east" and 17 units assigned to "west" that would be about right. :-D
OHP also drops in on Norman from time to time and the "W" or William units are water units; Lake Patrol. When It's weather like this they work the roads as well.
Makes sense, but why switch going away from the patrol beat units, unless it has something to do with this winter storm for some reason?
The radio traffic really does seem like it is city officers as it is not all road/traffic calls for the W units.
