Does anyone have the frequencies/PLs for New Jersey Transit North Jersey Coast Line trains that run from Bay Head to Penn Station, New York? I would like to have the Dispatcher (Bay Head), Rail Ops and Transit Police frequencies. I had them written down but lost them. I did a search but couldn't find anything with them listed. The info I saw posted was for out of the area. Thanks for any help.
As Railtrailbiker has already posted 161.235 is the correct frequency for the Bay Head trains. As a former train dispatcher for the NJT Bergen-Main/Pascack Valley Lines let me pass on a few bits of (maybe) interesting information.
161.235 is the Newark Division frequency. The Newark Divison encompasses the lines in central and south Jersey....the Coast, Atlantic City, Raritan, and Northeast Corridor Lines.
161.400 is the Hoboken Division frequency. The Hoboken Division encompasses the lines in northern Jersey....the Morris & Essex, Montclair-Boonton, Main-Bergen, and Pascack Valley Lines. Additionally, the Main-Bergen Line trains switch to 160.800 west of Suffern, NY for the remainder of the run to Port Jervis, NY.
The trains will switch to the appropriate radio frequency when moving between divisions.
All of NJT train dispatchers, excluding the Light Rail dispatchers, are located in Kearny, NJ at the Rail Operations Center, adjacent to the Meadowlands Maintenance Center. When I was employed there (most of 2003) we were still located on an upper floor of the Hoboken Station as the new dispatch center in Kearny was still under construction. Not long after I left NJT they made the move. I was fortunate to see pictures of the room taken by a friend of mine who still dispatches for them...it's quite nice compared to what we had in Hoboken.
Enjoy!
