Can anyone confirm which channels ARE and ARE NOT used? For example on RCS South, Sheriff has a Bomb/Arson talkgroup which in over 2 years of scanning I have never heard. I ask because I listen in for newsworthy incidents. If it's not something hot, I can't afford to waste my time listening to it. Also any info on them like U-COMM, I-COMM, 911 EMERG, LONG RIFLE (snipers).

ESC = Escondido, OCS = Oceanside

CARLSBAD I-COMM ---- 33536 ----- 0
CARLSBAD PATROL1 ---- 33104 ----- 0
CARLSBAD TRT -------- 32832 ----- 0
CARLSBAD U-COMM ---- 33184 ----- 45

ESC PD CMD 1 -------- 37136 ----- 0
ESC PD CMD 2 -------- 37152 ----- 0
ESC PD ENTRY 1 ------ 37104 ----- 0
ESC PD ENTRY 2 ------ 37120 ----- 0

OCS 911 EMERG ------- 24720 ----- 0
OCS CMD 1 ----------- 38336 ----- 0
OCS CNT ------------- 38320 ----- 0
OCS ENTRY TEAM 1 ---- 38288 ----- 0
OCS ENTRY TEAM 2 ---- 38352 ----- 0

OCS FIRE CMD 1 ------ 38384 ----- 0
OCS FIRE CMD 2 ------ 38400 ----- 0
OCS FIRE TAC 1 ------ 38416 ----- 0
OCS FIRE TAC 2 ------ 38432 ----- 0

OCS LFGD ------------ 38528 ----- 5
OCS LFGD TAC 1 ------ 29296 ----- 0
OCS LONG RIFLE ------ 38304 ----- 0
OCS SWAT 1 ---------- 38128 ----- 0
OCS SWAT 2 ---------- 38144 ----- 0
OCS TAC 1 ----------- 37312 ----- 0

Anything from Carlsbad, Oceanside or Escondido PDs will be on the north zone. I would suggest double-checking the data you listed there against what's in the database for San Diego-Imperial County RCS. If it's still in the database, then it is still an official talkgroup.

You may almost never hear them getting used, because honestly how often do you think a smaller city like Oceanside has SWAT responses with snipers deployed? But on the other hand, as a stringer I'd think you would want to keep any law enforcement talkgroups, even if they're rarely used, because those would be the incidents you'd want to respond to... right? ;)

In any case, Oceanside Fire Dept is part of the North County Dispatch JPA (called NorthComm on the radio), so I'm not sure if those OCS fire command and tacs are still current.

The Escondido TGs you listed are correct and have been active in the past.

Sheriff's Bomb/Arson TG was active during the "bomb house" operations last year.
