There's a simple solution to this secretive paranoia on the part of the feds and Chicago PD has pretty much set the standard as far as law enforcement dispatch channels go: provide it to the general public on a 30 minute delay. They can remove SS numbers, birthdates and the like ahead of time and leave the rest of the content as is. Yes, I'm less than thrilled about not being able to hear things in real time but I can certainly live with being able to hear pretty much a majority of the content, albeit on a somewhat delayed basis. If the feds continue to drag their feet on this very well thought out policy that CPD had implemented a while back, then you'll have a better understanding of the control freakish nature of these individuals, as well as their rather peculiar motives for wanting to implement such a secret squirrel tactic! There's absolutely nothing unreasonable about providing the general public with this information using the above approach.
