Snow Incidents

There's been good listening last evening and through out the night on some of the western county chs. The Fauquier, Rapp, & Culpeper trunk has been very busy with snow rescues and a passenger train vs. truck crash.

Western Frederick Co sounds the worse with people trapped in vehicles. They're being taken to a shelter in Winchester after they get walked out. One firefighter reported snow drifts over the hood of his fire truck. Road graders, tractors and emergency vehicles have all been stuck. Bulldozers being used to get thru and some rescues done on foot over the drifts. Postholing must be tough if the firefighters don't have snow shoes. Best Ops on 155.01 and 155.295.

Warren Co. busy especially Company 6 around Blue Mtn. Ops on VHF fire chs & the LTR trunk.

Clarke Co. pretty busy, but of course Law is encrypted.

All the above is continuing this morning.

Road Closures

VSP is reporting the following road closures:
Frederick Co: 15
Clarke Co: 1
Warren Co: 1
A VSP Trooper has been stuck in Frederick Co snow since last evening. An ICP in Stephens City is coordinating his rescue and that of motorists in his area.

Alexandria Fire is working a basement fire at 707 Bashford Lane. Multiple engines on scene, command on 2B, national guard also responding on 2G

1842- Small mattress fire
1843- Holding 2 engines and 2 specialty pieces all other units can go in service

Loudoun County is now beginning operations on a fully-involved house fire on John Wolford Rd. Ops on 6D Tac 11.

2056- They've run out of water at the scene and are losing what they had gained on the fire. A tanker task force had been dispatched. Units are having trouble getting to the scene. Water supply is on 6E.

2116- A helicopter is being requested. It will be on 6F.
2130- I'm still not seeing any signs of a helo airborne yet.
2134- Aircare-3 N324PH about to depart Leesburg Airport, they just turned on their transponder.
Medevac patient is a resident who was cooking french fries which led to the fire. 1st-3rd degree burns on face and hands, etc.
2151- Aircare-3 has landed.
2218- 1.5 hours into command.
2224- Aircare-3 departing for MedStar.

4 black males in a shooting in parking lot. 1 was a security guard. started as a fight.
No one injured, just shots fired.
2043- No shots were ever fired. Just a brandishing charge.

2038- Have 1 unit behind the suspect vehicle at 95S and dale blvd,
2039- Passing cardinal dr. not in pursuit just following. have notified state pd
2044- About to stop car South of MM150 on 95.
2046- Vehicle has stopped.

Loudoun's on a working barn fire at 17768 Harmony Church Rd in Hamilton. Heavy fire and smoke showing, starting exterior attack. Requesting PD to shut down Rt 704.

All radio traffic currently on 6D TAC 11 (TG 2875).

14:24: one exposure (camper) also involved. requesting power company ASAP.
14:40: adding three additional tankers. water supply on 6E TAC 12 (TG 2876).

Haven't been following what's happening. But just heard LCSO requesting EMS and then another deputy saying he was going to pick up the bomb truck. They're on the Dulles channel.

EMS being told to stage at Redskins Dr/ Loudoun Co Pkwy.
CSI-5 enroute, FM-7 on scene.

Somekind of Unknown SItuation at PRTC terminal in woodbridge. Looking for a black male, white shirt.
Multiple K9 units and supervisors enroute. Patrol units are currently blocking off all entrances to prtc terminal. Call went out via MDC to units. Sounds like a possible Bomb threat?

2025- Suspect dropped a bag in roadway near hylton chapel.
2026- Suspect(s) possibly ran into woods near I-95
2027- Requesting VSP for assistance on blocking ramps on I-95.
2028- Command Post set-up outside Sakura Restaurant
2030- Update- Suspect is a intoxicated black male that got off a prtc bus said "you dont know what i can do" to the dus driver. he had a bag and threatened there was stuff in his bag.

Earlier I heard references about water drops. Ops are on 6H Tac 21. I'm surprised I haven't found any mentions of it in the local news.

I'm a little lost on it as well. I heard it on TAC21 as well starting about 1400, but I think it starting way before then.

Clarke County Fire

Clarke Fire was 7-10 acres in size before firelines were completed and burned out.
May be as much as 25 + acres now.
Held one dozer and limited crews overnight.
One small helicopter made multiple drops until lines were completed around the fire before dark.
NPS and VDOF will have crews on fire today.
Area of burn was "Buzzard Hill" east of Rt 604, west of Rt 601.

Loudoun Co is working a 2-alarm house fire on Vermillion Dr in the Potomac Station area of Leesburg. I'll post some pictures later.

There was no shortage of idiots insisting on driving down Potomac Station Dr thus blocking it and access to additional units.
