FCPD Mason District -started as a domestic violence call this morning at 06:13am when a male attempted to drive his pickup truck into the home of his girlfriend at 7402 Add Drive. A neighbor and off duty FCPD officer was able to get her safely away. At this time, it is a barricade situation with the boyfriend in the home alone armed with a rifle. DPSC negotiator initiated contact with the subject, Sam Yung 32 years old. He hung up, and said to call back in 10 minutes after he was attempting to contact an attorney. Only charge at this time is misdemeanor destruction of property. Radio traffic switched now to Mason Ops 1 encrypted
I would suggest you don't name names and addresses heard over the radio -- might be detrimental to police operations and speed up any thoughts about total encryption.

Well State Boyzzz have not disappointed us with a new drop of a VSP highspeed pursuit some of you may remember in the area of Springfield, VA.

On 07/05/2024 Virginia State Police Troopers attempted to stop a matte purple charger for reckless driving. The vehicle fled and was initially able to evade the first Trooper. Trooper M. Middleton located the vehicle a short time later and again attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. Trooper M. Middleton pursued the vehicle for several miles until the vehicle became disabled and the driver fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Trooper M. Middleton was able to take the suspect, Corliss Jay Ntim, into custody. Ntim was charged with felony fleeing along with a variety of other offenses.

Last night in Sterling - Around 10:30 LCSO responded for a stabbing. Deputies found an adult male with multiple stab wounds of torso. He was transported to hospital and admitted in unknown condition. Last I heard he was at least still alive, didn’t hear any other details beyond that. Deputies quickly established the identity of the suspect and stopped a vehicle with a passenger who matched the description. The passenger was indeed the suspect, and he was taken in for questioning along with at least one other person in the vehicle. Firearm was recovered in the vehicle.

13:59 - Fairfax County 2-Alarm Residential Fire - 8300 bl Ivy Green Rd.

Callers reported people inside the home screaming and disabled residents trapped with multiple explosions. FCPD arrived first and confirmed fully involved attached garaged. RIT TF was requested by first arriving unit.

Units initiated an exterior attack on the garage and began rescue operations in a walk-out basement with several people self evacuated but multiple people still reported trapped inside. Units entered the basement to begin searches and initiate an interior attack on the garage. No extension to the house's interior but the exterior of the home was involved. 2nd Alarm was requested a few minutes after command was established.

1st due engine ran out of water after attacking for several minutes and additional resources were requested. Units holding the fire from the interior began losing the battle as the garage door burned through and fire broke into the attic of the main house but units were then able to gain ground on the first floor in operations against the garage. Units found a collapse in the floor on floor 2 while continuing the primary search.

EMS Group assessed several patients who had self-evacuated. 4 were transported after assessment. No one was located in primary and secondary searches. Foam attack was initiated on involved vehicles in the garage. Two foam engines were operating but both had issues that prevented full utilization of them.

Busy morning for FCPD Station 3 in McLean - some time in the early morning a barricade situation began, I believe in a hotel or apartment. SWAT, UAV, and Negotiators responded and resolved. Minutes after that resolved, the widely-reported CIA barricade began and SOD-1 and OSB-1 redirected SOD assets to that scene shortly after patrol responded.

FCFRD responding to Annandale for two tree trimming workers stranded in a 100 foot tree after an equipment failure. Two TR units en route in case the tower ladder can’t reach them. Unknown injuries.

1159- only one worker trapped. Tower ladder was able to make access and is currently getting him disentangled.

Any idea on the extent of injuries? I noticed a transport to the hospital on Pulse Point.

Today around 3:30pm LCSO and LCFRS FMO responded to John Champe HS for a suspicious person. According to radio traffic the school was evacuated and searched, including with gun dogs. Never heard exactly what happened or a conclusion. No media release either, making me wonder if this was some sort of training run, but they did dispatch on duty patrol units and FMs so thinking not?

I went back and listened to recordings and I heard it differently. I believe it was originally dispatched as a suspicious event, not person. And I heard multiple reference to bomb dogs, not gun dogs.

Given that they evacuated all students and staff to the stadium, I believe someone called in a bomb threat.

That would make sense given the FM response as I believe they partially or fully run the bomb squad.

Unclear how the casings are related. Units are clearing perimeter.

SWAT incident yesterday in far northwest Loudoun: deputies responded to a welfare check on Harper’s Ferry Rd and were advised shots had been fired as they were en route. They arrived to find shots still behind fired and at least a couple deputies were pinned down. A SWAT and Tactical Support Unit response was initiated. UAS and Fairfax 1 also responded. The drone confirmed there was no movement in the vehicle and blood was visible. Deputies moved in and confirmed the subject was deceased with a GSW to the head, I’m assuming self inflicted. I never heard anyone call out OIS and most units cleared the scene shortly after. As usual, LCSO has not provided any information on why they sent out the initial “critical incident” notification and the DC media doesn’t care either.

Water rescue at Algonkian Park last night around 8pm. LCFRS, FCFRS and MCFRS responded for a juvenile female in the river. She was said to be on an island by the caller and SW635 located her quickly. Their motor had issues but they were able to get her back to shore with assistance from SW439. Notably, comms were somewhat inefficient on this one, with LOCO and FFX using 6L Tac 31 and MCFRS on their 7A4. Didn’t listen to MCFRS traffic but I never heard anyone say they were on scene or in the water but somehow they still had overall command. BC601 told the SW units to switch over to 7A4 but they seemed hesitant and thus had a radio on each channel, which led to them not being to hear anyone at all what with two radios, the motor, and the river. BC601 was on both but no one from MC ever showed up on the Loudoun channel.

This is a Loudoun/ Fairfax problem not a Mont. Problem.

If the incident is in the river it is in MD and a Mont call PERIOD. After people died and after action reports were written, you would think the Virginia jurisdictions would’ve gotten this down by now. Yyou don’t run a call in somebody else’s jurisdiction and try and run it from your channel instead of theirs.

I honestly see it as an everyone problem. LCFRS's BC did tell people that MC had command and to use their channel, but I do not believe MCFRS was on scene nor had any boats. LCFRS reached the vic, had a motor issue, and FCFRD went out to assist. MCFRS never launched boats to my knowledge, so doing these ops over 7A4 and reporting to BC 703 instead of 601 who was on scene makes no sense to me.
