About 7pm there was a reported sighting of a green blazer with a Michigan tag. All units stopped what they were doing and set up a perimeter. Apparently the report wasn't very credible.

Right now units from other jurisdictions and news crews are at the HQ for a meeting. I saw the News Ch8 truck there and another truck on the way as I was leaving town.

Soon after LPD was on scene, officer advised that it was a child that saw and heard about the suspect on the news and was scared when a while male that may have looked like him waved at the child.

Suspect Caught

The below was sent from Loudoun Alerts and apparently he was caught in Atlanta while trying to flee the country with an expired passport. Customs arrested the guy. From the news on TV, Leesburg PD drove all night to Atlanta.

Over the past week investigators from the Michigan Task Force, Leesburg Police Department, Toledo Police Dept, the FBI, and numerous other law enforcement agencies, have worked tirelessly investigating leads and tips from the public.

Late yesterday afternoon one of those tips developed into a strong investigative lead that identified an individual who has ties to both the Flint, Michigan and Leesburg, Virginia areas. Investigators from the Michigan Task Force, Leesburg and the FBI worked this lead through the night. A person of interest was taken into custody. He is currently being held on unrelated charges.

While this is a key step in the investigation, there are still many issues that need to be addressed before we identify this individual as the person responsible for this horrific crime spree.


All agencies and investigators continue to work closely to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion. As more information is solidified, additional information will be released. The involved agencies and jurisdictions want to thank the media and the public for their continued assistance and support in this investigation

Armed Robbery - Broadlands

Subway Broadlands Centre Plaza. Happened about 11:55. Black male, 6', black handgun, white T-shirt and dark pants. LCSO and VSP are looking for the suspect. LCSO using their Dulles channel.

1330 - Suspect caught at Lowe's off Noke's in a gray Hyundai.

Loudoun Tac 31 Incident

What type of incident is currently on Loudoun Fire Tac 31? I believe that is the Tac ch they went to. I'm too far away to hear 800.

Fairfax County:
Units are operating on scene of an overturned tanker truck leaking gasoline at the intersection of Pickett Road and Main Street. Operations on 4H, Command on 4I.

Engines 423, 402, 418, 427, 432, 414, 408, 440, Foam Engine 403 Rescues 401, 418, 414, 426, Foam 426 and 437, Battalions 404 and 405, Safety 401, Operations Deputy, Special Hazards 431, Hazmat and Hazmat support 440, Mobile Command Post 438 Rehab 413

1 hour and 10 minutes in, Engines 430 and 434, Mobile Command Post 443, Special Hazards and Medic 440, Canteen 408, Battalion 443 have all been added on, all units are in standby phase awaiting final group set up. Almost a full third of the counties engines are on this call, as well as half of the rescue squads.

20:45-Residential Structure Fire...Garage attached to the home reported to be full engulfed

20:50-Engine 7 arrived on scene confirmed..Person trapped upstairs Engine 7 going in to rescue

20:51-Operation Chief Raised it to 2nd Alarm

20:55-Engine 7's crew rescued victim from 2nd story...Fire Marshal Enroute....County Fire Chief Moving up units to other station to fill

20:57-Request for more tanker trucks, water running low

20:59-Roof of structure totally engulfed

21:05-Per Ops Chief...***Evacuation Tones***..No water all units to evacuate

21:10-Still having water issues NO ONE IS TO ENTER THE STRUCTURE

21:12-Dispatch 2 more Engines

21:15-Operations Chief Calling 3 surrounding counties for extra tankers

21:25-Still w/o sufficient water

21:28-Starting to knock down the fire

20:15-Stafford County-Possible Aircraft on Fire...Caller Stated Aircraft looked to be on fire
20:17-Ops on Channel 2 per BC 1...aircraft looked to be going south
20:20-Contacted FAA No Emergency in the area...just meteor showers in the area..still obtaining further
20:24-Nothing founded, returning all units, command terminated, channel released

VSP helo in Reston this morning?

This is strange considering VSP sold N36VA and closed the Manassas Aviation office.

At 8:07 am this morning, a VSP helo lifted off from Reston Hospital and headed southeast toward Charlottesville/Richmond area.

Can anyone confirm it was VSP and where they were headed?

According to an SCP officer the same helo came in from the north at 8:40 and landed at MCV Richmond.
