When I was Living in Island Park Long Island 2010 I Used to Hear 60 Control No Problem the 46 mhz frequencies was a nice change to hear the dispatches from other counties--when i moved to bay shore end of 2010 (suffolk county Long Island) i was Getting westchester / rockland / some conn but was the best for me was hearing ulster county fire disp on 33.48 on a discone 25 ft from grnd level using a pro 2035 scanner which i still use today

Sorry to Hear that--Funny there are Many Depts Across Ny Still Using Low Band--You Would Thing Motorola would Still Support these Dept

Oh Yah Thats Right--Just another way to Force these Depts to Get New Hi-Priced Gear Meanwhile there Using Old Rigs and Equipment Thats Barely Hanging On--Owego is One of Them--I Saw that Dept First Hand back in 2012

Now let me pose another question. I listen to Putnam County Fire dispatch on 46.38 but again this is a very faint signal. I only seem to hear Camel, Mahopach, Mahopac Falls & Brewster being dispatched (46.38) and this is a signal that is weak at best. Why would this be? its the next county over and i'm only hearing about half the dispatch. Amazing to me.

they transmit on different towers depending on what fire dept is being dispatched the towers that tranmit from putnam valley and from philpstown may not be making it to you

I never thought that to be the case. I hopefully will eventually be moving to my antenna outside on the roof sometime soon. From where you are in Brewster can you pick them up?

sometimes but its faint its weird i work down in new rochelle and can pick up it up clearly im guessin just depends on the geography of where i am
