Not receiving DPS on SDS100

I am not getting any traffic on the DPS frequencies on my SDS100. I've had this scanner for several years, and this issue resolved on it's own and now has come back. I am using the Uniden Sentinel software. In the past, I have gotten traffic at random locations as I was driving, but little to nothing at home. At some point after an update, the problem largely went away, but I suspect I was still not getting as much reception as I should have. Now, nothing. I have location settings enabled, I have tried turning that off with no resolution. I can see the George Bush overpass at Hwy 75 from my backyard, so I know there is plenty of radio traffic within range. Database is current. Have done a force full rewrite with erase favorites.

Most TxDPS traffic inside the DFW metro area is on the NTTA talkgroup on the NTIRN radio system. I program that using Dallas Layer 1. Outside of the metro area, most DPS traffic is going to be on the County Sheriffs talkgroups. Can't speak for the eastern areas. But in Denton County they are on the County Patrol talkgroups. In Parker County and Johnson County they have their own talkgroups. All that said I do sometimes hear DPS 101 on DPS Base D and some coverts on DPS CLE, but I am using a external antenna tuned closer to the vhf freqs. they are on. Lastly I will say that the SDS Scanners are known to be bad on VHF, as they were developed specifically to resolve simulcast issues on the 700/800 bands. ADVICE: use a different scanner with a VHF antenna.

I get the VHF weakness issue, I have a external antenna to help with that. I have been monitoring the NTTA site, not Dallas layer one. I think you gave me the answer I was looking for THANK YOU!

I was looking for the radio traffic on George Bush and the Dallas North Tollway. I wasn't aware that NCTCOG had expanded the system and my programming was out of date. No wonder the trunked system I was listening too was mostly dark. The DPS WIKI site here might also be a little out of date. I should have posted my question sooner. Again, thanks for the help.

DPS Dallas is busy at times. Hunt County is active. I've also heard them dispatching Kaufman County troopers.
