I am getting some sporadic NXDN traffic on 155.085 that I am trying to pin down. It came up with RAN 5 and as NEX9 on the 536. It was pretty strong in the area NW of the White Tanks. It is some sort of school bus operation apparently.

I also hear some weaker traffic on analog with PL 146.2 coming in shortly thereafter.

Neither are listed in the RRDB nor can I find a reasonable solution in the FCC DB.

Any ideas?

I've seen references that 155.085 is supposed to be Verde Rural FD (Camp Verde area), and La Paz County LG. I've lived in the Quad Cities area for the past 2-1/2 years and haven't heard anything on that freq.

did you check +/- to include 155.07750 and 155.0925 ?

FCC reporting server issues when I drill down into the 11 licenses for the 3 frequencies

I find nothing in Maricopa County, Yavapai County, or LaPaz County for that frequency [or nearby splits] on NXDN.

There is the Clarkdale-Jerome Elementary School District buses on 155.265 MHz [NXDN], although I doubt the signal will routinely get over Mingus mountain..

If it were P25, there are nearby frequencies to AZ Dept of Corrections [and whatever the rest of their silly name is] in Phoenix, Buckeye, and Goodyear.

If it were DMR, 155.6325 MHz is licensed to Prescott Valley.

Contracted radio service perhaps? I'm not finding anything on ULS for Nadaburg USD.
They are definitely close enough to me, but like you say no radio licenses under their name. None of the 155.085 licenses come up to the area. They surely could be wildcatting.

That is almost 70 miles as the crow flies from me, so I don't think that is it.
Ah... I did not realize it was quite that far. That is the only thing that jumped out at me. I have a few NXDN sites where I have RDF-ed the exact site it is transmitting from and there is no license to be found. Maybe you have a similar situation here.

Camp Verde Fire District merged with Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District almost a decade ago. They are the Copper Canyon Fire Department now and follow the Yavapai/Prescott/Sedona/Cottonwood channel & frequency agreement, as does much of the County now.

155.085 MHz? Not in current use by Yavapai fire agencies.

No CWID callsign piping out over analog either? Also some charter and private schools will have their own busses that operate separate from district. As a last resort maybe try piping into DSD+ for alias clues if any.

FCC Callsign WQJU860 (APACHE JUNCTION UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT) Might be this? It is a school system in your general area. The emission type is not NXDN, but that would not be the first time an agency has operated a digital system under a conventional analog license.
I am now thinking that this could be the target I am looking for. The repeater is located on Usery Pass, a mountain top north of town, if it were in town it would be blocked from me by the White Tanks Mountains, but Usery provides a straight-line path with no mountains to me.

I also finally heard a street location, Idaho Street. This is one of the main drags thru AJ, one of the schools in on Idaho Street.

I had this set up on my R8600 and have the recording function turned on, I will play back some of the files to see if I can grab some other locations. It might be worth a trip out there next week, perhaps I can con the wife into a little road trip and perhaps a stop at MicroCenter on the way.

Edit: I just heard a location of "Idaho, between 16th and Broadway", so that pretty much seals it as Apache Junction.
