NYC using National Police Channel

Over the past few days I have been hear NYPD using 155.475 for what seems to be fairly routine radio traffic. Not even asking for or giving assistance. Just now I even heard another town remind them they were leaving a link to national turned on. anyone else listening to national these past few days to know what's going on??
