Hmmmm, I was updating my Favorites list on my SDS200 using Sentinel and I saw there is a difference between what is listed in Sentinel
and what is showing in the RR database of the NYCOMCO EDACS system.
So I was wondering which is the one that I should go with, Sentinel or RR?
It looks to me that the RR one is more updated, it looks like some sites and channels or being turned off on the system and RR shows that
and Sentinel doesn't.
What do you guys and gals who have more experience think?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thxs

When is the last time you updated the database in Sentinel? Looks like the sites might have been changed last week. Sentinel updates from RR once a week and there should be updates to Sentinel tomorrow.

Sentinel pulls all its data from the RRDB, therefore the RRDB is always going to be the most up to date. Sentinel only refreshes once a week.

Note that although Sentinel still shows them in the latest refresh, Sam's Point (Ellenville) and Chestnut Ridge (Millbrook) sites are off the air for the EDACS system. Sentinel apparently still imports sites that are deprecated, but there is no active EDACS control channel at either site.

Have you seen this thread? NYCOMCO Tait P25 system (EDACS replacement)

EDACS will eventually be replaced by the new P25 system. There is no timeline for the migration, P25 system is still extremely new and barely any testing going on.

OK so I will update those 2 sites by hand and remove them from the list, I also see that Mt Beacon has 7 channels listed on the RRDB but Sentinel has 9 listed, and Walker has 5 listed on RRDB but Sentinel has 8, So I will go by the RRDB list, I guess NYCOMCO is updating their stuff.
I down loaded the latest DB for Sentinel but I guess the updates haven't caught up to Sentinel yet!
Thanks for the info.
I'm looking forward to when NYCOMCO goes P25 and also when the Dutchess county P25 system goes live someday,
It seems to me the radio systems up here in Dutchess county is a giant mess I sometimes get messed up trying to figure
out who is who on all the channels and the simulcast stuff too!
And dont get me Started on the NYSP radio system, What clown thought it would be a good idea to use the same channel for more that one area and use the same PL code for them too?

One more thing...
I'm still kinda new on trunking system stuff, so I'm just wondering on the RRDB for this system when I look at the site channel info it says the channels marked in red are the control channels but on the RRDB list there are no red channels listed.
Am I Missing something here? Just wondering before I start removing channels from the sites.

All of the frequencies for the remaining active EDACS system are current as shown in the RRDB. You must add all of them in order for the system to be tracked correctly, the LCN numbers are very important, so pay attention to them (some LCN's are skipped).

You seem upset that their operational design...that's been in place for years...all over the state...doesn't work well for your listening post...yeah, I'm sure they don't care.

In my opinion, ProScan is much better than Sentinel ever will be.

Sorry, that was me, my bad.

Sentinel's database is updated Sunday night into Monday morning. If you update the master database today, it will match the latest in the RRDB. Of course that does not update your favorites lists, you have to do that manually.

Yea I see the updates now in Sentinel, the channels match the info in the RRDB.
I also see that the Chestnut Ridge ( Milbrook) and Sams Point (Ellenville) sites are crossed out
with the comments " This site is deprecated, and may no longer be in use or is superseded by another site. It will be removed from the system shortly" included, so I take it that those site are down for the system and its safe to remove them from my favorites list?

Correct. There are no Control Channels at thoes sites. I think it takes 30 days for the site to be removed from the RR DB entirley.

Take a look at the threrad that @GTR8000 posted above: NYCOMCO Tait P25 system (EDACS replacement)
It was mentioned there that they are offline.

I literally posted yesterday: "Note that although Sentinel still shows them in the latest refresh, Sam's Point (Ellenville) and Chestnut Ridge (Millbrook) sites are off the air for the EDACS system." Can't get any more clear than that.
