The 482.9125 NAC 233 that I reported hearing yesterday was really active starting almost exactly at midnight last night. That is reportedly to be a Manhattan precinct.I find it of interest that the Brooklyn RF DTV 16 channels were the first group to switch.
Perhaps a coincidence, however the performance the P25 Vocoder may be an improvement when RF levels increase during tropo on 482-488 MHZ.
Perhaps a consideration for FDNY as well.
have all the PBBKN zones transitioned to P25?Here is the latest I got last night. Again, started just after midnight. Only a few logings, so probably just testing.
484.4125 NAC 749 (PBMN 5)
Looks to me Manhattan will be the next to transition over.

No, 73/75 and 77/79 are still clear. Brooklyn south as well.have all the PBBKN zones transitioned to P25?
Also I am hearing 72/76/78 Pct. right now (476.4125)No, 73/75 and 77/79 are still clear. Brooklyn south as well.
The move to the encrypted Patrol Boro channels is temporary so that their regular precinct frequencies are readied for the changes. They need to work on the precinct transmitters, multiple receivers and associated links. There will be a period of coverage testing within the precinct areas before the units are moved back. Then it will be the next batch that will be moved for their zones to be readied.have all the PBBKN zones transitioned to P25?
oh. so the current PCT freqs will transition to P25 (retaining the same frequency)? What will happen to the three Patrol Borough P25 freqs? The move to the encrypted Patrol Boro channels is temporary so that their regular precinct frequencies are readied for the changes. Probably not, the assumption is that everything will be P25E. Only time will tell once the transition is complete. The question is will any NYPD frequency remain unencrypted after the p25 upgrade? Will any frequency remain analog? Wondering about SOD and other city-wide frequencies such as citywide one and citywide two, that have other agencies and interop capabilities
I have the same question with reference to the Tac/Simplex channels that ESU and others use.The question is will any NYPD frequency remain unencrypted after the p25 upgrade? Has this been confirmed? Haven't heard anything about this.

So is the long term intention to move back to the original frequencies (with the obvious new NAC and P25E) or are the Patrolborough frequencies the new permanent home?
Who do we thank, lil brother?😂
