- Let's change course slightly and stop being bad winners.
Does anyone have any insight as to what happens to all of the Vertex VX-P949's, given the number of keys limitation (48) similar to the APX900?
All Non UMOS get the VX-P949s, such as Traffic, School Saftey, and those who have MOUs for access. All programming is UHF, nothing in the other bands for outside interop besides the NYMAC Channels. NEXT was a choice for OTAR and OTAP, and the APX900/VX-p949 won't be supported much longer. 949s aren't being sold off, more so repurposed for everyone else besides the cops. Only guys with Vertex in the field still are select traffic personnel depending on the borough, but just VX-537s.

Is NYPD using that many different keys on channels? I would have assumed the main patrol channels would be keyed the same or maybe by boro.
