OASIS updates

There are many updates to the Waukesha County side of OASIS, so check them out:

-Non-county agency TG names in the ALIAS field are updated to conform with the RRDB admin handbook (shown in the DB as shown on a radio)
-Several now-unused TGs have been marked depreciated
-Upcoming changes noted in some subcategories

I'll be looking into the Milwaukee side of the system soon as well.

Made the same changes to the Milwaukee County muni TGs today, so they'll be available after Sunday's DB update for those that download the RRDB into their scanners.

They are an OASIS user in Milwaukee, hence their own talkgroups. It's been in the DB for quite some time, I just cleaned up some nomenclature.

The Wisconsin Capitol police department has a office at the state office building in downtown Milwaukee and have a police presence at that building and used to use a UHF 453 frequency but with OASIS they can talk to dispatch in Madison I assume it's IP linked out to Madison and I used to see them pop up on WISCOM as well

They used to cover state fair park but state fair park has its own police department again so they no longer cover that area anymore

That must have been many years ago because State Fair Park has had their own police force as long as I can remember and I'm 57.

Doing a little research the State Fair Park Police was established in 1907 but in 1999 it was disbanded so from 2000-2006 the Capitol police handled the fair grounds and then in 2007 the State Fair Park police was reestablished I remember going to the fair as a teenager in the early 2000's seeing Capitol police officers

That makes sense even though the general public probably didn't notice. But there was always a police force of some sort.

When the WI State Fair is not going on...the WI State Fair Park PD operates on West Allis PD channels. Their squad numbers are 190, 290, 390 depending on the shift. You can see them occasionally making traffic stops on Kearney Ave (Which is the road between WSFP and I-94).

Don’t know if this is the right area for this but I had a few questions about oasis Waukesha county side of things in regards to Waukesha county communications. I’ve noticed a few new things. One there is new unit numbering. I hear V Victor units and I’m not sure what municipality those are?? also I hear they are using Tango for T instead of Tom. Not sure if that was because Tom was becoming confusing? And lastly I hear that they are patching a lot of the Area channels during 2nd and 3rd shift it seems… at least over night Area1 and 2 are patched together and also Area 3,Area 5 and oconomowoc pd dispatch are patched. Thing they are doing this because of lack of dispatchers or lack of radio traffic?

The V Victors are City of Oconomowoc PD units as they slowly make the transition to WCC later this year. No exact date yet has been finalized. Just 3rd shift Oconomowoc units are dispatch through WCC. 1st and 2nd shifts through their current dispatch center. Butler is now T Tango instead of T Tom, because J John Oconomowoc Lake made reference they could tell the difference of T Tom or J John unit being called. Since the end of 2021 and still both Area 1 and Area 2, along with Area 3 and Area 5 have been patched due to both lack of dispatchers and radio traffic radio.

Oconomowoc lake (John units) are normally dispatched on area 3 but when there’s slow radio traffic and or lack of dispatchers they patch area 3 and area 5 talk groups so you will hear the same radio traffic on both talk groups along with during 3rd shift city of oconomowoc pd dispatch is also patched to get them use to how wcc works as they transition over.
