While scanning the new trunked system on sds100 or 436 the agency name does not come up on the scanner. Is there some type of a list that identifies the department name by agency number that can be programmed using sentinel?
Also is there anyone in Ocean county I could pay to properly program a sds200 scanner. Id be willing to pay you. Id rather have someone do it than using files.

you would be better off doing it your self, that way you can use any names you want for whatever talk group and you will learn how to use and program the scanner and make changes when ever you want rather than waiting on someone else.

Give this hpe favorites list file a try. It has the Ocean County P25 trunked system. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Click on the File tab in Sentinel and click on Import from hpe file (Favorites List). Click on New Favorites List and name it Ocean Co NJ Click on OK. In the Downloads folder, Open the extracted file (Ocean Co NJ.hpe). It will appear as a favorites list in Sentinel. Click on the Edit tab and click on Edit Profile. Click on the Scan Selection tab. Set Download and Monitor to On for the favorites list. Click on the Service Types tab. Custom 1 must be enabled. Close the Profile Editor. Click on the File tab and click on Save. Turn on the scanner. Plug the programming cable into your computer. Plug the cable into your scanner. On the scanner, you will get a message to press E to enter USB Mass Storage. Press E on the scanner. Click on the Scanner tab in Sentinel. Click on Write to Scanner. A popup box will appear with your scanner model and serial number. If this is the only favorites list you want in the scanner, check the box to Erase Favorites Lists in Scanner. Click on OK. When the write is completed, eject the scanner and remove the cable.

Just follow the steps and you will have working scanners. If you have missed transmissions, dropouts, and garbled audio with the 436, it will be due to simulcast distortion. Please let me know if you have any questions.

All NJSP traffic is now on the NJICS system. In Ocean County, you'll want to scan the Bordentown cell, which has a subsite in Toms River. No guarantee that you'll hear everything you're interested in hearing, as the talkgroups will only be active at sites where they are needed. If there are no radios affiliated with a talkgroup at a particular site, that talkgroup won't be heard. Simulcast cells tend to carry the most traffic due to their wide-area nature, so you should pick up quite a bit of activity on the Bordentown cell.

Hi, Wanna get back into the hobby for the winter etc. Can my RS Pro-668 and Whistler 1098 still be able to work on the new systems? Thanks, haven't been on in a while.

Here is an updated file which includes NJSP Troop C and Toll Roads. The file also has all of the Ocean County talkgroups including Fire/EMS, Sheriff, and Police. Use the instructions in previous post #8 to import the file. If you have trouble, maybe someone in your area will import the file and program the scanner for you.

The old Motorola Type II trunked NJ State Police radio system is out of service. All State Police units are now on the NJICS P25 statewide trunked radio system. All of the talkgroups for the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike are included in the new file I attached. You need to use the Bordentown site for Ocean County. There is a subsite in Tom's River.
