Doing some reprogramming on my radio and wanted to ask if ODOT Dist 4 Salem, are using VHF flagging channels or using the Talk groups on the new TRS?

I would guess they use trunk system talkgroups, but was wondering if there was any cross patching to vhf flagging freqs?

I'm still receiving all their traffic on VHF ODOT Dist3 and OSP on SM1.
Sorry, but no specific info on flagging freqs. I'll try to remember to add those to the scanlist.

I listen to the main TOC channel in Salem area on the state 800 system using my Unication G5, and a ICOM mobile for VHF stuff. Winter is coming and you don't want to leave them off your "scan list". Great information for what roads/highways are getting treacherous, need de-icing or plowing, etc. BTW, The G5 does awesome on OSRP 800 system from here. I have the West Salem Site, plus 8 other sites programmed in. The G5 is outstanding on picking up the nearest site for me, when I drive around.

Reference the flagging talk groups on 800, yes but sporadic traffic on them. So you really want to listen to the flagging channels huh??

There traffic on flagging channels in my area, but i don't scan them year around. I was just doing some radio reprogramming and wasn't sure if Vhf flagging channels were still in use in valley since the trunking system been in service.
