No clue. This is the second time I have heard of HP-1's having issues recently though, one of the local IN guys is having issues with all of his HP-1's. Check all your settings, and make sure your updates are all well,.. Up to date.

I think that is when it happened was after I did an update.
I thought it might have been my range setting, no joy.
I even went to a better antenna, nope.

MMD talkgroups make-over. They're gradually starting to use a block of zone 1 specific talkgroups, and given all that's going on right now, some are seeing a little more use.

The Trent Lott CRTC Fire Department is using 12585 so I'm guessing it mirrors it's zone 2 equivalent, mostly since fire/crash/rescue goes pretty much hand in hand with Incident Command. 13583 is in use periodically tonight for what sounds like some kind of boat op. The rest are just from logging radio affiliations and not any actual use, (yet)

Code:
12583 D MMD Z1 12583 MMD Zone 1 12583
12584 D MMD Z1 12584 MMD Zone 1 12584
12585 D MMD Z1 ICC MMD Zone 1 Incident Command Center
12586 D MMD Z1 12586 MMD Zone 1 12586
12587 D MMD Z1 12587 MMD Zone 1 12587

13581 D MMD CMD MMD Command
13583 D MMD Z2 OPS MMD Zone 2 Operations
13585 D MMD Z2 ICC MMD Zone 2 Incident Command Center
13587 D MMD Z2 Tac 1 MMD Zone 2 Tactical 1
13588 D MMD Z2 13588 MMD Zone 2 13588
13589 D MMD Z2 Tac 2 MMD Zone 2 Tactical 2
13591 D MMD Z2 Tac 3 MMD Zone 2 Tactical 3
13595 E MMD Z2 13595 MMD Zone 2 13595 (Enc)
13597 E MMD Z2 13597 MMD Zone 2 13597 (Enc)

EDIT: OK 12583 ("this radio") "is for emergency use only" tonight, as someone was very adamantly just told. LOL

New TG 42042

Been hearing a good bit of activity on TG 42042. Definitely not Copiah or Lincoln, but could possibly be Lawrence Co. SO. Hear it regularly when traveling I-55 between Hazlehurst and Brookhaven. Hopefully someone can help me nail down exactly which agency it is.....

Remember , in that area you also have Crystal Springs PD testing, Crystal Springs Fire Department, and Volunteer Fire Departments testing, as well as Lincoln SO, Copiah SO, Brookhaven PD, Copiah County Schools, Copiah EMA eventually getting its own TG, Lincoln EMA. You could also be getting Claiborne, Lawrence, or any of the municipal LEA's/FD/VFD's in those counties.

I don't think Jefferson has an MOU with MWCC for MSWIN yet.

TG 42042 is definitely Lawrence S.O., other than Lincoln S.O. (TG 34695) there really is no evidence that any of those other agencies in that area are even using MSWIN. Can report that Copiah S.O. and Jefferson S.O. are still using VHF Hi. In confirming TG 42042, heard their dispatch putting out a reckless driver report in the Monticello area. No doubt it's Lawrence S.O.

TY! Will add it! Phase 1 or 2?

Fortunately, it's Phase 1. F&W, it seems, is the only agency consistently using P2 in this area. MDOT LE's car2car [12202] is mostly P2. All other MDOT radio traffic, Maintenance & LE, is P1.

Rankin County MSWIN

Rankin county will be switching over in early 2015 the fire department will more than likely get old pd radios that have been reflased and the pd will get all new ones. The county has purchased new mobile base radios for the tornado siren system. The firefighters in the area are pretty mad because our good mtx 8250 radios will not work on the dumb MSWIN.

The Smart Zone system type is no longer going to be supported by Motorola, so those "good MTX 8250" will soon no longer have a system to operate on as it decays into an dangerous state due to its age, and lack of any replacement parts, OS, etc. Maybe the VFD's can sell the old radios to someone that is on an system that will be still able to use them. Can't think of anyone on an 800 MHz Smart Net close to you guys though.

To put it in simpler terms, think of Rankin County's TRS as a PC using Windows XP.... It was a nice OS, but has now outlived its time, and is no longer supported, and now is becoming dangerous to use. Want to have an system that is stable, safe, and will b around for the next 20 years like the old on was? Time to upgrade to Windows 7, or 8/8.1. For the TRS, that means P25. And the best bang for the buck is MSWIN.

TG 42042 is being used by Copiah S.O. . ASAP ambulance was talking to copiah 13 this date. Copiah S.O. talks on mswin 25 and they are still using VHF Hi.as well.
