Hello everyone I don't want to ask a stupid question but I just got back into the hobby after an absence I purchased a Home Patrol 2 from Scanner Master with which I am happy I live in Cleveland and they set up Cuyahoga county for me I monitor Greater Cleveland Radio Network Cleveland PD, Fire, EMS various suburbs etc with no problem
It has Ohio MARCS Cuyahoga county but it does not receive OSP, RTA police, Lakewood PD, Metro Parks police etc Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated Thanks!! pete105

Hi & welcome to the RR forums!
The Cuyahoga County sites are simulcast. Have a read here about simulcast distortion. It's one of the most discussed topics/issues on these forums and can really wreak havoc trying to receive from a non-Uniden SDSx00 scanner. However given the fact you say you are able to reliably receive other agencies while monitoring this site, simulcast distortion may not be the issue. Whoever programmed the scanner for you may have omitted these agencies. I don't suspect it would be a disabled service type or more given the fact that the agencies you mentioned are "Law Dispatch" or "Law Tac" service type talkgroups along with the ones you report you can't receive. I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with Uniden Sentinel: App link here & easier to read manual here. Once you do, you can simply download the favorites list(s) from your scanner to Sentinel then use the following procedure to post your Sentinel export as an attachment on this thread so someone else with an HP-2 can check the programming.

In Sentinel choose File > Export to hpe file. Choose each favorites list to be exported

Locate file(s) you exported, select them all then right-click...

I guess just the usual troubleshooting...
It’s scanning all systems? Meaning the Cleveland GCRCN system isn’t highlighted in yellow?

Your location and range settings? Are they wide enough for MARCS?

Service types should be no factor if you’re already receiving GCRCN law enforcement, fire dispatch, etc..


If simulcast distortion is the culprit, hopefully you can pick up surrounding tower sites, Lake, Geauga, Summit simulcast sites or Lorain, Grafton, etc...

Last thought is perhaps it’s a bad favorites list with no location settings and you basically need to load the internal systems?

I’m curious if your HP2 allows you to analyze the Cuyahoga Simulcast site?
