My 2¢

Here's my current collection of serviceable radios:

• Kenwood TM-271A - Set up as a base connected to a Cushcraft ARX-2B 30 feet in the air.
• RS PRO-2096 - Mounted to the desk next to the TM-271.
• Yaesu FT-7800R - In the car I drive most often, with an Antenex QWB144 quarterwave for VHF and an Antenex Phantom TRAB4303 for UHF.
• Yaesu FT-2600M - Currently awaiting installation in another car.
• Vertex VX-150 - Tried and true, run hard and put away wet 2m portable. Still works great!
• Vertex VX-180U - First five channels are work, the rest is 70cm amateur. Has an MH-45B4B public safety speaker mike for use on the job.
• RS PRO-96 - Portable clone of the PRO-2096 for use when I'm away from the shack.
• RS PRO-93 - Backup scanner. Programmed and stashed away just in case.

I honestly don't know....but I think I now have everything I want.

I have a recently-made-useless Bearcat scanner in a box somewhere and I just bought a Yaesu FT-100D and crapload of accessories for it.

The most recent lot of rigs purchased over the last 7 years went into storage last year after restoration/reconditioning and hotrodding.

TS-140S w/AT-250
TS-450S/AT
TS-690S/AT

Yaesu:

If I can survive for four more years, I'll finally have that shack I've dreamed of for thirty-five years.

This was my equipment list before I got my ham license, posted back in 2005:

In the home shack:

2-BC895's
1-BC780
1-BC890
1-Regency ACT-C4 (my first-ever scanner, 4 channel crystal)
1-Regency R3020
1-Sony ICF-SC1 Wavehawk Handheld

In the home, but not in the shack (packed away in a closet):

1-Radio Shack PRO-10 8 channel crystal
1-Radio Shack PRO-14 10 channel crystal
2-Radio Shack PRO-2026's
1-Radio Shack PRO-43 Handheld
1-Bearcat-5 8 channel crystal

In the car I have just one radio, a second BC780.

All my radios are in excellent working and cosmetic condition.

Who knew that I'd get into this hobby the way I did. I think being a scanner buff probably contributed, in some way, to me having become a dispatcher. Oh well, no complaints. And to think it all started with that little 4-channel crystal Regency that I got as a gift back in 1981!

A month after I made that post back in 2005 I got my ham license. There have been a few changes since then. The home shack is still basically the same:

2-BC895's
2-BC780's
1-BC890
1-Regency ACT-C4 (my first-ever scanner, 4 channel crystal)
1-Sony ICF-SC1 Wavehawk handheld
1-JD-100 Civil-Military Airband handheld
1-Yaesu VR-500 Wideband handheld
1-Icom IC-R5 Wideband handheld
1-Icom 746 Pro transceiver
1-Icom 756 transceiver
1-Yaesu FT-60 handheld transceiver
2-Yaesu FT-7800 transceivers

The mobile setup now consists of a Kenwood TM-V708A transceiver and a BCT-15/RH-96 combination. I still have all those stored scanners as well.

Who knows what the future holds.......it looks like at least one 996XT (if not two) will be added to the list in the near future :D

Wow, this thread is over 5 years old but still getting the odd post so here's my .02 cents:

Yaesu FT-990
Yaesu FT-100 (yeah the mobile, what a great rig!)
Icom IC-T81A (the quad bander... cool handie)

Uniden GMRS handies (pair - don't recall the model number here at work)
Fedaxin cheapy Chinese UHF handie that covers GMRS and the 440 ham band
Icom IC-F621TR mobiles, pair (bought for GMRS but haven't programmed them yet)

Grundig 350 portable shortwave radio
Uniden BC350C scanner
Uniden BC95XLT scanner (handie)
Uniden Bearcat PC78Elite AM CB
Cobra 200GTL-DX 10 meter (why yes, it has the latest revision board and works well, thank you).
Realistic TRC-451 AM/SSB mobile, needs repair (only threw that in since I originally bought it new back in the early '80s!)
