Your saying your discone antenna is better on HF frequencies then a loop, I had a Wellbrook HF loop last time for HF frequencies and it was great for HF

I tried the MLA-30+ which only cost around 60,00 dollars, I wanted to see how well it worked. I got is to work with the RSP1a, it did not work well. For HF I have a 3 element beam at 65 feet, works very well with the SDRplay

All three antennas, Receive Mag Loop, Discone and 3 Element Beam all have their plus and minus points which vary greatly. Comparing them in differing geographical areas and RF environment I believe muddies the water about performance or which is the best. My YouLoop is an example of reading marketing buzz and seeing if it was true. My use case and RF environment does not bring out the strengths. Others will have better or worst results depending...
