My daughter, who lives in Swainsboro,Emanuel Cty, is visiting me here. I have several analog scanners that I was going to program one up for her. Do any RR listeners know if they are still analog, as the RR database shows, Would an analog scanner work for her for awhile? Troop 19, at Swainsboro still shows analog, though I have read, here on RR , that Ga HP is moving to a trunking p25. Any word about that. All of the counties around Emanuel, are showing analog too. If analog still, oh how nice to not have to listen to a digital sound. Does Ga HP , use an extender frequency, because the scanner that I am going to send, is a bct8, that has the mobile extender feature on it.

From what I can gather, without living in the area, the analog will likely work in the county in question. I don't see this county listed on the state trunking system. Of course, I am assuming that the RR DB is up to date. All you have to do is program the frequencies and give it a go.

Post 19 is indeed P-25 conventional. The county is analog. The most used PAC-RT frequency is 773.0375 with a PL of 156.7. This is regardless of digital or analog. But, it isn't used on a daily basis. Georgia DNR and GSP have an ongoing transition to P-25. Troop B by me is 100% P-25. They even link with the DNR P-25 repeaters.

There is no statewide trunk system. There are systems made up of multiple counties, cities within those systems with their own trunk system, counties with two systems, and others using DMR.
The 'Good 'Ol Boy' system is alive and doing well:roll: Thank goodness, there is still something for me to monitor.
