Sounds like RFI noise. Any new electronics near your antenna or in your house recently?

Not real familiar with the 996xt but if you can find out the NAC and the scanner has a NAC squelch (digital squelch), that would probably solve the issue too.

welll i had to lock it out for now its just to annoying

no new electronics, and its only happening on the one freq, ill work on finding the NAC

Well I solved the problem, I set the (digital/analog/all) switch in the scanner to Digital for this frequency now the noise is gone.

That's great. I hope you can find the NAC and the database can be changed to P25 from NFM.

my scanner is now showing a NAC:902

for this frequency!!



must have to be set to digital to see it
