OK. Thanks. So, does that scenario happen to you? Or no?Does the static URL work in the web browser?
No worries. I knew what happened.

With the emoticons, yes. If you're asking about Winamp, then no. I don't use Windows any longer. The static URLs do work for me in the browser though. If you test with a browser and it works, then it's something with Winamp authenticating you, not the systems at Broadcastify.OK. Thanks. So, does that scenario happen to you? Or no?
That kinda goes over my head. Sorry. But thanks for your help. I was asking about Winamp. With the emoticons, yes. If you're asking about Winamp, then no. I don't use Windows any longer. Try the static URL in your web browser, and report back. That kinda goes over my head. Sorry. But thanks for your help. I was asking about Winamp.
That works. But what's problematic about that is trying to figure out which feed it is since it doesn't display the feed name. It's quicker to use the other option. I'm just gonna have to find a different workflow.Try the static URL in your web browser, and report back.
So that proves your creds do work with a static URL. I'm thinking Winamp isn't passing back credentials properly. Is it a popup window like the browser or are you inserting the credentials into the URL?That works. I have been inserting the credentials into the little pop-up window that appears. So that proves your creds do work with a static URL. I'm thinking Winamp isn't passing back credentials properly. Is it a popup window like the browser or are you inserting the credentials into the URL?
Thanks for the information. We deprecated these features for specific audio players because a very very very select few people use players like WinAmp, Real Audio etc.
The feature that we have in place for advanced users such as yourselves is the static URL feature which is available for premium subscribers. You'll have to work to figure out how to use that URL and the prompt for the login/password with your players.
There are just too many different players out there, many which are more than 10 years old and haven't been supported or updated in years that some people still want to use. We've made the conscious decision to only support the static URL feature going forward which provides the broadest support for the various advanced players people want to use.
You might try placing them in the URL. It seems Winamp isn't authenticating you in the pop-up window.I have been inserting the credentials into the little pop-up window that appears.
Are you saying insert my credentials for Broadcastify into the pop out URL insert doohickey? You might try placing them in the URL. It seems Winamp isn't authenticating you in the pop-up window.
Use the URL format of the static URL:Are you saying insert my credentials for Broadcastify into the pop out URL insert doohickey?
https://username:password@audio.broadcastify.com/feedid.mp3
Thanks for all your help. But it won't be acceptable if all that is required to listen to a feed that must be pulled up in a hurry. And hundreds of times a day.Use the URL format of the static URL:Put that into Winamp when you type the URL into it.Code:https://username:password@audio.broadcastify.com/feedid.mp3
Make a playlist of your favorites so you can play them quickly. Thanks for all your help. But it won't be acceptable if all that is required to listen to a feed that must be pulled up in a hurry. And hundreds of times a day.
Associate mp3 feeds with WinAmp so that winamp automatically launches when you choose any MP3 feed. Thanks for all your help. But it won't be acceptable if all that is required to listen to a feed that must be pulled up in a hurry. And hundreds of times a day.
Even if you do that, Winamp prompts for creds, and it is failing to authenticate to BCFY.Associate mp3 feeds with WinAmp so that winamp automatically launches when you choose any MP3 feed.
I told him the other day that it worked for me in Winamp. In the Winamp menu select "Play" then "URL..." and enter the URL. Or, easier yet, Ctrl+L from anywhere in Winamp. This is what I enter:Even if you do that, Winamp prompts for creds, and it is failing to authenticate to BCFY.
That's interesting. So you putI told him the other day that it worked for me in Winamp. In the Winamp menu select "Play" then "URL..." and enter the URL. Or, easier yet, Ctrl+L from anywhere in Winamp. This is what I enter:
https://username : password@audio.broadcastify.com/39447.mp3
Winamp will prompt for the username : password. Enter your username and password separated with a colon. NOTE: There should be no spaces around the colon. I only did that here to avoid the smiley face emoji. You also need to replace 39447 with the number of the feed you want.
username:password
I tried that and it was taking a long time connecting so I canceled out of it. Not sure if it would have eventually worked or not. That's interesting. So you putinto the prompt that Winamp generates for auth?Code:username:password
You could likely put those in the URL, substituting your creds for "username" and "password".
