• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

The CH721 operator's manual is too large for me to attach, send me a message and I will email it to you.

perhaps the chastising on you was a tad harsh, I just think the members are trying to suggest that when you have a pool of questions regarding a platform such as a Harris mobile, ask them all in one post so we can keep things tidy in terms of sifting info.

other than that, if there are any more questions, feel free to ask since thats what we are here for.

Unfortunately, I think you just hit on some people’s pet peeves… It’s usually best to ask several questions about the same radio in a single thread. So you are trying to consolidate and now you’ve asked duplicate questions… so you’ve had a rough start and feel like you can’t win. I get it. Don’t take it too hard though. Hopefully this will be a reset and things will get better from here on out!

I think this quick guide will definitely help you!

I don’t remember for sure, but I believe it’s the ramp paddle… try stuff… it’s one of three options: ramp, scan add/del or the volume knob. One of my radios came with the 721, but it isn’t attached anymore. I do remember figuring this stuff out pretty quickly by just fiddling… This was before I found any sort of manual via google search.

Good luck,
B

An extended options cable plugs right in to SS2000, the rest is programming for certain external operations.
Dig up the install and operation manual for the siren.

The accessory ports on the radios are completely different. The M7100 uses a 37-pin connector, while the M7300/XG75M use 44-pin.

The installation manual for the M7300/XG75M has all the part numbers and other useful information you need.

Just build one. DB37s are cheap cheap and you can get them with solder cups, crimp or even screw terminal.

Concur. I built a speaker and remote programming cable for my VHF M7100 this way. Way more user-friendly and maneuverable than the enormous factory cable.
