Anyone have any information on monitoring FIRE, PW, etc. in Osceola County?
I have noticed this site has two systems listed with almost no current updates.
One system is called Osceola County (Motorola) and the other Osceola County (P25).
I suspect the Motorola named one is the older and transition to the P25 the newer system of the two.
If anyone can confirm that info, it would be a start.
I will be visiting so don't have time to monitor for long periods trying to figure out if I have programmed correctly
I want to program a Uniden BCD-396T. ANYONE KNOW IF I SHOULD USE TYPE 1 OR TYPE 2 OR
P-25 STANDARD (DIGITAL XT). It will save me a lot of time and frustration if I know which is correct.
I will have to assume the frequencies are correct as well as talk groups unless anyone knows otherwise.

Public Safety uses the P25 system. Some government and Inter-op are still on the old Motorola analog system. All law enforcement with exception of LE net and a few Inter-op talkgroups are encrypted. Fire/Rescue is not encrypted as well as any government users on the P25 system.

I've vacationed regularly down there since 2007. Fire-Rescue has never been encrypted (old system or the newer P25 system).

In your last sentence you said "Fire/Rescue is not encrypted as well as any government users on the P25 system" Is that correct your have verified by listening or have first hand knowledge otherwise that Fire/Rescue is still just D not DE?
Reason I ask because another writer said they were E.

So Fire./Rescue is now D,E? No scanner can listen then. That would mean the RadioReference data is outdated. If you are sure perhaps you may want to update the database by sending in the info. You may have past contacts there which you have staying up with and may have credible information to pass along.
Another person has stated not encrypted so I am not sure if that was a typo or they really know from monitoring or otherwise.
I was able to listen to Osceola County Fire as late as Spring 2017 as well as Kissimmee FD. I am out of the area myself but returning often for various periods of time.

Thanks Joe. Still just D not E for Fire/Rescue. Does everything look correct on the data listed here on this site. They are now on the New P-25 system correct?
I may have to do some experimenting with my programming to make sure I have it correct.

The RR database is correct, law enforcement is the only encryption used. The biggest problem is it is a simulcast system. I am east of St Cloud 5 or 6 times a year. I have never had much luck monitoring their system. However, my last two trips I have had my SDS100 with me. The SDS100 works like a champ on that system.
Now for more info on this system. There is a second site for this system in St Cloud. It is a 700mhz site.
Here is my pro96com file. It shows a August 2017 date only because that is the last time i ran pro96com on that site. There is very little traffic on this site. The callsign is WQVM213 if you want to look it up on the fcc site.
