I don't know how many members here actually monitor this system... BUT. I have listened to the 700 side of the 48E system (Site 1.2) for about 72 hours.

I didn't see a single voice channel grant. Not ONE.

I saw about 100 different radios try to affiliate with the system, and every single one of the AFF requests was denied.

thoughts? any intel on how this site is used (or not used in this case)?

((EDIT) of course, as I hit submit on this post, TG 17 pops up on the 700 side of the system....

I'm not normally able to hear either site of this system but one night I did catch the 700 MHz side and logged activity on one talk group.

Has anyone logged any traffic (be it encrypted or not) off site 2? I've never heard anything off site 2 other than getting a bunch of DENY registrations

Guessing site 2 might be for air craft ops? When you see the OCSO heli up than try the site 2.

I have never copied an actual TG in use on their 700 system. Could be like Bravo14 said - air only, I just don't know.

I spoke to a Kissimmee PD officer today, he rather likes the new Motorola APX Next N70 he was issued earlier this week., Gotta say, it's an impressive piece of equipment. As i hear, the subscriber equipment is leased to the agency. Kinda makes sense, with "you will own nothing and love it" being the new way of thinking.

I recently heard some tests down here in Broward with what appeared to include failover to a TCP/IP connection. Is that what those devices can do?

I'm no expert on the APX Next line but I'd expect they can do that, yes....
Heck, they can probably be programmed so that if you press the orange button, a pizza of your favorite type will be delivered to your location within 30 minutes or it's free. Take GPS fix, use AI to place the order, wait....
