Hi all,

Trying to program in quite a beefy favourites list and keep running into an over limit message, followed by no more favourite lists loading after.

Is there a limit of sites allowed per system in a favourite list? I've had a look and haven't noticed any limits that I would be hitting but something isn't happy.

175 sites, 1606 frequencies, 309 TGs. Have tried splitting into two favourite lists, however still having an issue. Actual file size isn't much larger than 150kb.

I have added all frequencies per site as some I don't have the CC information, and others it may change. I can probably revise this down with information I have recorded on the CC's if needed

I tried to open but it wont open. It unzipped as a hpd file. Sentinel seems to only offer hpe file for import.

That is not too large of a file. If you are using Location Control, you will have problems as the location for groups is 0/0.

You might try creating a whole new Favorites List, only with one site and one department with few talkgroups. See what happens with that.

If it "takes", then you can try expanding the new one, adding parts of the problem list a little at a time and see if you can discover when the issue happens.

It's possibly you have inadvertently stuck some weird character in the file that is giving the scanner some kind of error.

One can look at the HPD file using Notepad. . .

I suspect he took the FL and just changed the file extension from HPD to ZIP rather than exporting the FL to an HPE file then zipping the resultant HPE file.

Assuming that's the case, he might be trying to "fool" the FL file some other way and the scanner is saying "No you don't."

That was my bad. I just took the HPD and zipped it up and sent. I've exported the HPE through Sentinel and attached it here.

That is possible, so I might have to set myself a mission to do that

Yep, aware the location for groups is 0/0. Trying to get it to load into the scanner before I set further locations.

As long as there are Favorites lists on the scanner that need to be downloaded into Sentinel (such as a list on the scanner that was edited in some way that was not duplicated in Sentinel), I think I'd reformat the card, in case there was something odd there, then do the 'Clear User Data' to set the card up, then try downloading to the scanner again.

I tried loading your list to one of my scanners, along with all the other lists I use for that scanner. No error message of any kind. The size of your list, after import, showed as being 95kb.

Yeah weird. I wiped the scanner/card, reloaded the list with the same issue. Then I deleted the list, and imported from the version that was uploaded on here and it worked. I think the Export might have cleaned something up?

Only difference was about 10 TGs were missing from the version I uploaded here compared to the version I had on my PC.

That's correct. I get the same over limit message when trying your hpe file. Sentinel, or whatever favorite list editor you've used, made a mistake and didn't put those TG's that got missing to a department. It has to be a T-Group as the first line to tell what department the following TG's will belong to. The working TG's 20101 and 20102 has QAS as its department. The missing TG's 10107, 10108 and so on have no department (T-Group) configured to them.

Use Notepad and edit that old hpd file and copy the whole line with T-Group QAS and insert before the TG 10107 line and edit QAS to say QPS, or whatever you like, and save. When you open Sentinel, or any favorite list editor, you will now have a QPS department with your missing TG's and the over limit error will be gone.
